1. How to Register an Account on DigiLocker
If you are a new user, register an account by following these simple steps:
- Launch the mobile application or navigate to digilocker.gov.in.
- Click on the "Sign Up" button.
- Input your full name exactly as spelled on your Aadhaar card.
- Fill in your Date of Birth, gender, and active mobile number.
- Set up a secure 6-digit Security Pin.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and email.
- Submit and enter the OTP sent to your phone to complete registration.
2. Pulling Certificates via DigiLocker App
- Launch the DigiLocker App and sign in using your PIN and OTP.
- Tap the "Search" option in the bottom tab bar.
- Search for "Uttar Pradesh State Board" or "UPMSP".
- Select either "Class X Marksheet" or "Class XII Marksheet".
- Verify that your name matches the Aadhaar records.
- Type in your board Roll Number.
- Select 2026 as the passing year.
- Tap "Get Document". Your marksheet will be fetched and stored in the "Issued Documents" tab for immediate access.
3. Pulling Certificates via DigiLocker Website
- Navigate to digilocker.gov.in on your browser and sign in.
- Go to "Search Documents" on your dashboard.
- Navigate to state-wise departments, click on Uttar Pradesh, and choose "Board of High School & Intermediate Education UP".
- Input your credentials: roll number and passing year (2026).
- Accept conditions and hit "Get Document". Save the resulting PDF file.
DigiLocker Downloads — FAQ
Are documents downloaded from DigiLocker legally recognized?
Yes. The Information Technology Act, 2000 establishes that all documents issued digitally through DigiLocker are legally equivalent to physical copies.
What happens if my Aadhaar is not linked to my current mobile number?
To verify your account and pull academic documents, DigiLocker relies on OTP authentication sent to the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. If it is not linked, you must visit an Aadhaar enrollment center first.
Is there any charge for using DigiLocker?
No. DigiLocker is a completely free, secure, and government-managed cloud service under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Can I download older marksheet copies from DigiLocker?
Yes. UPMSP has hosted records of several previous years on the DigiLocker server. You can select your passing year during search to pull older marksheets.
Why does it say "Record Not Found" when pulling my marksheet?
This error indicates a mismatch. Ensure that the roll number, passing year, and name spelling matches the board exam records exactly.
